A major conference focusing on creativity, luxury, heritage, technology, AI and beauty. This is Athens

Several concerts also take place around Athens, including The Young Gods at Gazarte and Autechre at Universe Live Stage. LiFO

🏛️ First Sunday of the Month

A good day for visitors interested in Athens' archaeological heritage.

Public museums and archaeological sites participating in the state programme offer free admission on the first Sunday of the month during the winter period.

🍴 Gastronomos Food Festival 2026

The festival brings together 20 regional Greek tavernas, cafés and artisan producers, with cooking demonstrations, wine, olive oil, cheese and other Greek products.

One of the most important dates in the Greek calendar.

Athens celebrates Ohi Day, commemorating Greece's refusal of the Italian ultimatum in 1940.

🇬🇷 Military & student parade

📍 Syntagma Square & central Athens

The parade is one of the most interesting experiences for foreign visitors because the centre of Athens fills with Greek flags, military units, students and ceremonial events.

The day is also an excellent opportunity to experience Athens' patriotic atmosphere and Greek traditions.

🏃 RUNNING EVENTS

The Athens Marathon – The Authentic is not held in October.

The major marathon weekend takes place in November 2026, with the marathon itself on 8 November.

So, if you're preparing this calendar for tourists, I would put a prominent note:
